A tiny dose of facts goes a long way: have you heard of TuDosis?
Updated: Dec 6, 2021
I find it curious that we are living in times when information comes easy at the touch of a screen- but unfortunately misinformation is the actual dictator of this day and age.
Go back to last year; to the time when we were not certain of anything and incorrect information was bombarding us in every possible way through any given media. All of us were absolutely fed up and even got scared of so many lies and their unbelievably fast spreading.
Hypotheses are great as long as they are not stated as absolute truths. Well, this was not the case during the midst of the pandemic. If fake news were a concerning topic before, once Covid-19 made its appearance, the corroboration of facts went into a downward spiral.
I may add that we are living during times in which the rhythm of consumption can get overwhelming. Every day we are exposed to so much stuff through social media and the internet, that we get a bit automatized, scrolling until the day is gone.
Considering all of the above, it is very well appreciated when projects like TuDosis (@tudosismx) come to life. This is an Instagram and TikTok account created by Raquel and Lucy, who studied International Relationships and Communication. They began the task with the focus of giving something useful to society, and things started flowing in the right path.
The cool thing about TuDosis (YourDose), is that it is conformed of fact-checked relevant news synthesized in a very short format. So if you follow them, you’ll notice that every once in a while, a piece of worldwide veracity will pop up in your feed. I like to call it a “tiny newspaper” conformed of “micro newsflashes”.
So yeah, it is actually your everyday small dose of info. It’s a petite window to be aware even if you’re not the kind of person that is always heads up to reading the news.
This way, you can keep up to date with the important stuff that is going on without all the overflow of data. Just a quick, stone cold fact. And if the topic grabs your attention and you get interested later on, of course you can always do your own deeper research. If not, at least you are now aware of something important that is happening out there. Make sure to check their profile and follow them so you can keep yourself informed!
